Your privacy matters
Sidecaster is local-first by design. The app does not require an account and does not upload your media to Renewal Software servers.
What Sidecaster does on your Mac
- Stores your library configuration and imported media copies in Sidecaster’s application support folder on your Mac
- Generates a local podcast feed and serves it from your Mac when you start the built-in server
- Optionally advertises a Local Network feed URL so devices on your Wi‑Fi can reach the feed
What we don’t collect
Sidecaster does not collect or share:
- Personal information such as name or email
- Usage analytics or advertising identifiers
- Device fingerprints
- Location data
- Behavioral tracking data
Purchases
If you start a trial or unlock the full version, purchase processing is handled by Apple through the App Store / StoreKit. Renewal Software does not receive your payment card details.
Local Network mode
When Local Network mode is enabled, devices on your own Wi‑Fi can request the feed and media from your Mac. This is under your control and limited to your local network. It is not a public hosting service.
Third-party services
Sidecaster does not integrate third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs.
